Case Study
Regional Logistics Operator
Logistics · 480 vehicles · 3 hubs
On-time delivery visibility raised on-time rate by 14 points.
Problem
On-time delivery was reported once a month, in a slide, three weeks after the month closed. By the time anyone saw a bad number, the drivers, routes, and customers involved were long gone from memory.
Solution
We piped telematics and dispatch data into Snowflake, defined on-time delivery precisely (down to the tolerance window), and built a daily dashboard per hub, per route, per driver — with drill-through to the underlying shipments.
Result
On-time delivery rose from 79% to 93% over two quarters. Hub managers now start the day with the previous day's exceptions instead of a monthly retrospective.
What we actually did
- Aligned dispatch, telematics, and customer-promise timestamps into one timeline per shipment.
- Wrote a shared definition of 'on time' — signed off by ops and customer success.
- Built exception queues per hub, refreshed hourly during operating hours.
- Trained hub managers to run a 10-minute morning huddle off the dashboard.
